The Facebook Pixel works very similar to “cookies.” The pixel fires up every time someone visits your page or any specific page of your website so you can use this information to retarget people who might be interested in your products or services.

How do I install it?
Well, it depends on what website builder you are using. But first, you have to create a Facebook Advertising Account to get your Pixel ID. Once you have it, you can add the Facebook Pixel ID to the website or install it through the HTML. But either way, it all depends on what you website builder you use.

How do I use it?
After you gather enough data, you can build custom audiences and similar audiences based on this data. In other words, you will be able to show your Facebook ads to people who already visited your website AND to people who share similar interests based on the data from the Facebook Pixel. This is why Facebook Pixel is one of the first things you should add to your website once you finish building it so you can start tracking data early on.

Other Uses
You can also use Facebook Pixels as an alternative and compare with Google Analytics. There isn’t a software that can show you with 100% accuracy what pages people are visiting, for how long, and where they come from. Analytics and your website builder will provide you with data but the more data you have such as the Facebook Pixel, the better overview you will have of how people are interacting with your site.
